Após uma temporada frustrante para os rubro-negros pela ausência de títulos e com a mudança na presidência do Flamengo para a próxima temporada, há a expectativa por mudanças no elenco profissional do Flamengo. Contudo, Marcos Braz, que assume a pasta do futebol a partir da posse do mandatário Rodolfo Landim, descartou a possibilidade de uma “caça às bruxas” no grupo profissional ou uma “barca de jogadores” de saída para o ano de 2019.

O novo VP de Landim, que já participou de outras gestões e é cara conhecida da torcida, fez elogios ao atual elenco – avaliado por ele como acima da média.

My partnership with [Darren] Bravo was crucial. We just said ‘let us try to bat deep’.”We wanted to have a go in the last four overs. We kept losing wickets, so we had to push [launching the final surge] back. But it proved today that 212 runs was a lot [to chase] on that wicket.”Sammy’s all-round performance was, ultimately, the difference between the two sides. He held firm with the bat after West Indies had fallen to 102 for 6 in the 32nd over from the relative comfort of 71 for 1 just an hour before. Alviro Petersen will not field in the Headingley Test, but will bat again if required, after sustaining a grade one strain to his right hamstring. He will require seven to ten days to recover but should be fit fot selection for the thrid Test at Lord’s, which starts on August 16.The results of Petersen’s scans were received by the South African team management on Saturday morning and they confirmed assistant coach Russell Domingo’s statements late yesterday afternoon that the injury was “not too serious.” Jacques Rudolph will be likely to open with Smith in the second innings.Petersen scored 182 runs and spent eight hours and 53 minutes at the crease over the first two days of the Test. It is understood that the damage was done while Petersen was playing a cut shot in the eighth over of the morning.Petersen reached for a short and wide ball from James Anderson to usher it over the slips and in so doing, hurt his hamstring. He did not receive treatment immediately and only called for the physiotherapist after passing his previous highest Test score of 156.A series of stretches and some pills allowed Petersen to continue to lunch. He lasted five overs after lunch before nicking off on 182. In total, Petersen batted for 24.4 overs after the injury was sustained.Although he did not limp noticeably at any stage during his innings, he did appear uncomfortable in parts. Faf du Plessis, who was drafted into the squad on Tuesday after Albie Morkel was ruled out, took his place in the field during the start of England’s innings.Petersen also suffered an injury at the beginning of the tour, when he hurt the joints in his left foot while out on a jog. There were two wickets each for David Balcombe and Kabir Ali, while James Tomlinson gave little away in returning 1 for 33 from 19 overs.Benny Howell’s hopes of a big score against his old club were dashed early on as he fell leg before to Kabir, pushing half forward. Daqueles que formam a atual diretoria, Genaro Marino, Victor Fruges e José Carlos Tomaselli viraram oposição, enquanto Jesse se manteve ao lado de Maurício. Por isso, muitos imaginavam que ele seria o primeiro vice de Galiotte no próximo pleito, mas o dirigente preferiu escolher o diretor administrativo Paulo Buosi, seu braço direito.

– Eu sou palmeirense e sócio há mais de 30 anos, nunca precisei de nenhum cargo para ajudar ao clube. Pode perguntar para qualquer um. Eu me tornei vice-presidente por um convite do Paulo Nobre. وأكد فيفا أنه يجب على التعاون دفع المبالغ المستحقة خلال 45 يومًا، وإلا سيواجه عقوبة منع قيد أي لاعبين جدد حتى موعد السداد، وقد تصل مدة الإيقاف إلى 3 فترات قيد متتالية.

Ramnaresh Sarwan, the West Indies batsman who has not played for his country since June 2011, has turned on the national team’s coaching set up for his continued non-selection.Sarwan, 31, has scored 5,842 Test runs at 40.01 and captained West Indies in two Tests in England in 2007 but was overlooked for this tour and instead signed for Leicestershire where he has been in form with two centuries and two half-centuries and has captained the side while Matthew Hoggard has been injured.”The coach said some negative stuff that hurt me mentally and emotionally,” Sarwan told . “Mentally I was broken down, not from the stress of playing, it’s just certain individuals have drained me mentally. It took a toll on my confidence and the way I play. Everything went away.”Sarwan lost his central contract in 2010 with an “extremely indifferent attitude and sporadic approach towards fitness” cited as the reason. He played four more Tests, scoring 83 runs before being dropped. He is now pleased to be out of the West Indies set-up. “I’m away from all those problems, my mind is at ease and I have had nothing to worry about, no coach to say any negative things,” he said. “At one point I didn’t know which was my back foot and which was my front foot. Now I’m much better, more precise with my movements, everything crystal clear in my head.””I never spoke about this because I was caught up in a shell and I used to not come out of my house for up to three days. My dad was the one to inspire me to start back playing. I was going to stop because they were getting the better of me but when I saw him break down emotionally that inspired me.”Sarwan returned to county cricket with Leicestershire, after scoring 442 runs at 31.57 for Gloucestershire in 2005. His comeback has been a success, with a century in his second match against Derbyshire and scores of 117 and 98 against Essex – form that has prompted many to call for his return to international cricket.But even if he was offered the chance of a recall, Sarwan said he wouldn’t walk out on Leicestershire. “I owe them because they’ve invested in me,” he said. “I’m big on principle and when I was in the dust being kicked by my own people I was given an opportunity by this club and I will not forsake that or betray anyone. I don’t want to find myself in a situation where I was two years ago, where I couldn’t have fun. My happiness is utmost and the most important thing to me. I want to stay focused and forget about what has gone before.”
